Two Card Invisible Flight

his trick utilizes only one sleight, the double lift. If you know this, the trick is a good quickie with the right patter used.

Step 1: Shuffle yourself or have a spectator do it. It really is not necessary, but helps to "set the stage."

Step 2: Double lift ( turn over two cards as one ) the top two cards to show whatever may be the second card. We will say it is the three of hearts. Turn the "card" ( really two ) face down and deal to your right, naming it the car
of the person on the right. Remember, the three of hearts is on the top of the deck, and an indifferent card is on your right. Ok, here is the patter for step two I use: "Okay, Lisa, this will be your card, the three of hearts. Now I am going to put on your side here."

Step 3: Repeat step two. Showing what was originally the third card from the top. We will say the card they now see is the five of spades. turn it face down and deal the top card ( which is really the three of hearts ) to you left. "Sara, this will be your card."

Step 4: Now, here is the situation from right to left. You have the three of hearts on your left face down. The tabled deck with the five of spades on top which the spectator thinks is on the right. To your left, an indifferent card.

Step 5: Take the far right card and insert it into the approximate middle of the deck. Riffle the end of the deck for drama, and use patter like "Watch as I put the three of hearts in the middle of the deck. Lisa as I rifle the deck, would you blow on it? You see, you just caused it to come right back to the top." T! hen place the card, ( still face down! ) to your right. then pass your hands magically over the two cards and say "not only did I bring Lisa's card back to the top, but I just caused them to jump places! " Turn over the two cards and show them the surprise!
