Joker Sandwich

The cards are spread and a volunteer indicates their choice.

The magician flips the card over to show the face.

The deck is 'closed' and immediately spread upon the table.

The chosen card can be seen face-up within the face down spread.

The chosen card is removed with the two cards either side of it.

Amazingly the chosen card is in a Joker sandwich !

***

This is a simple little trick which can create a great reaction from the audience if performed smoothly and 'professionally'

Preparation.

Before commencing, position two Jokers - one at the top of the deck and one at the bottom.

Method.

The method in this trick is the way that the chosen card is turned over.

The cards are spread from left hand to right hand until the volunteer indicates their choice. At that point, the cards in the right hand are used to press down on the edge of the chosen card which will make it turn over and settle on the top of the cards in the right hand (practice this move). With as much flair as possible announce the name of the card, you must then smoothly place the cards in the left hand on top of the cards now held in the right hand.

Immediately ribbon spread the cards and locate the chosen card along with the two Jokers as described above.

When performing this magic try and create a mystical atmosphere by suggesting the magical powers of the chosen card. Learn a few facts about the numbers*, suits and court cards (or make them up). This will offer a slight distraction as you place the cards in your left hand onto those in the right hand !

*For example : If an eight is selected you could say "Did you know that because of it's shape, gamblers refer to an eight as the Snowman ."

Good Luck.

You will be tempted to repeat this trick - DON'T
